Grading System

Vinyl is graded with inline with accepted and universal standards including UK RRPG

*

Fine-Tuning

From time to time a + (Plus) or - (Minus) may be required or provided

where a record just misses a grade due to a notable concern or where a grading is conservative.

Due to differences in grading systems and general opinions / biases I aim to give honest gradings

information below is provided as a guide and I am open to answer any questions you may have.

Mint (M):

Only records that are sealed will be graded mint.

——————————————————————————————

Near Mint  (NM):

Opened but unplayed records will be graded EX to NM.

——————————————————————————————

Excellent (EX):

Covers, Inner Sleeves, Inserts or Extras:

May have slight wear or light creasing but will remain strong with no seam splits.

Visually:

There will be signs that the record has been played or handled but the record has been cared for

and looked after – traces, lightest of marks may be present under light and may appear near flawless in daylight.

Audio:

There will be very little lessening in sound quality run-in or passages may present

light unintrusive static or crackle, but the tracks will audibly strong and clear.

——————————————————————————————

Very Good (VG):

Covers, Inner Sleeves, Inserts or Extras:

May have normal ageing / light discolouration, wear and tear including:

noticeable edge / storage wear or creasing but will remain strong with no seam splits or major defects.

Visually:

There will be signs that the record has been played or handled many times –

traces, noticeable surface marks and light scratches will be present under light or daylight.

Audio:

There will be no major lessening in sound quality despite some background noise, static or crackle,

which are age related - the odd unintrusive isolated pops or clicks / ticks may be acceptable.

——————————————————————————————

Good (G):

Covers, Inner Sleeves, Inserts or Extras:

May have more significant wear and tear or folds and creasing but with seam splits and major defects.

Visually:

There will be signs that the record has been played or handled so much –

with many noticeable surface marks, scuffs and feelable light to medium scratches present.

Audio:

Deemed playable copies - There will be more noticeable deterioration in sound quality

with medium background noise, static, crackle, distortion which is more intrusive and may present

pops or clicks / ticks in places – jumps or skips may be acceptable only if isolated and minor.
